The site continues to evolve. The most recent changes include adding a new system to track distances recorded from everyone's QuickMiles, the soon to launch iPhone app that records and saves maps automatically, any custom maps that are added, and any other formats that may be added later on. Along with these updates the site will support the metric system, so if you prefer kilometers there is a new option for that on the account settings page and that will control the way distance for your account is calculated and displayed while logged in.
Highlights:
New website updates! Added decimal support for miles entered 20.5, 8.25 etc. Also added a few new calculations to track how many miles you ride throughout the week, month and year.
Currently the old and new mile trackers will run side by side until I can get some more testing in.
Other:
A lot of server updates and back end stuff. Everything is running a bit smoother now!
Took the site down for a moment today for some basic server / security updates. Also, updating facebook connect to work with their new api changes.
The website will be down for some updates and maintenance. Should be back soon!
Update: Site down for about an hour (up around 2:30pm PST) for routine maintenance. A few security fixes and bug fixes.
A new ssl certificate from geotrust rendered the app useless for 24 hours. I noticed this evening that it hasn't been working since last night around 9pm PST.
The android didn't like the new certificate. After some research I found the instructions and tools needed to get it working again! They are listed below.
The app is working great now and your information is secure!

In an effort to bring it all together I am working on a new mobile theme to make the website as accessible as possible. This is important with the recent release of the new android app and will be increasingly important once I wrap my head around iphone app development (currently climbing the learning curve).
First thing is first. Install a module to detect mobile devices and work on a new custom theme to make it as easy as possible to register for a new account via mobile phone.
The app is published and live today!
Now you can log your miles easier from your android powered phones.
A utility that links with your account on http://gbt.co/ and makes it easier to log your miles after each bicycle ride.
Working on a new app to interface with user accounts. Will start with some basic functionality like logging miles from the phone. The app will default to the present date (with option to change that date) and there will be a small text entry box for the number of miles you rode that day. Click the button and your profile / quick miles will be updated.

Moving to a hybrid of google maps and open layers... New enhancements include full screen mode, fancier control panel and more map choices to experiment with.
Also planning to integrate gps tracks and the like to adventure maps, so anyone who has one can add it to their own adventure map along with the spots that you can add now.
More updates soon!
