Night Ride

As I look out on the bay the reflections stretch for miles across the water and the lights on the other side shimmer like the gentle waves go on forever.

Tonight I rode up to Peninsula down to the bay then around Broadway. Now that Peninsula is accessible it is a perfect loop from my apartment. I needed some exercise to help clear my mind before bed. A nice five mile loop with a few areas for maximum acceleration to get my heart rate up and my lungs working did the job.

The bay was nice and calm. There were a few stars out, scattered over the night sky, above the glowing cities. Not like it is out in the woods, but even the city lights hold a certain beauty in them.

Notes from the ride: leg warmers (and knee warmers) don't stay up very well. One I had to pull up right after leaving and the other fell below my shorts on the way back. Even with the sticky elastic band over my shorts they just don't stay up. Especially after wearing the knee warmers a few times. They stretched out so much I have to adjust them at every stop! Aside from that they do keep my legs warm and they don't get near the chain like jeans and other pants.
