Bicycle USB Phone Charger

July 13, 2013 - 9:37pm -- GBT

Here is a tip on how to keep your phone charged while recording rides.

Use Velcro to secure a USB phone charger to your top tube or anywhere on your bicycle. I have seen one secured under the top tube on a road bike, on top of the top tube and even on the handlebar stem.

Here are a few images of the charger attached to the top tube and the extra cord secured with an additional piece on the side. Be sure to put the soft side of the Velcro on the USB charger, so if you want to put it in your pocket or in a bag it wont get stuck to anything. Stick the rough side on the bike.

New Feature: Track Distance Per Bicycle

July 5, 2013 - 1:10pm -- GBT
New Website Features:
  • Manage your bicycles
  • Track bicycle maintenance
  • Track how many miles you ride on each bike
Other new / unrelated features:
  • View max and average speed on the map page

A new feature is in the works. Now you will be able to track how many miles you put on each bicycle!

First create an entry for your bicycle(s). When you enter a bicycle you will have an option to sync all distance that you have already entered on the website.

Chainless Bicycle

The new chainless bicycle arrived today April, 1st. It was packed nicely and nothing was damaged. It took about one and a half hours to assemble. I took my time looking over everything carefully. I was first turned on to chainless bikes when I was in Half Moon Bay browsing through a book store I came across the Cyclepedia and flipped through it. There are some awesome bikes in there. Two grabbed my attention right away as I flipped through. The chainless bike and one that was modified for snow and ice. It had a studded rear tire and a skate where the front tire used to be.

Android App Updated

January 30, 2013 - 10:06pm -- GBT

Released an update for the Android app tonight! The authentication process needed to be reworked and has been simplified along with a few other updates. These updates include a date select widget to make it easier to add entries from previous dates on the app along with a few other small updates for better flow, centered screens and scrolling for landscape mode / smaller screens.

Now more than one entry can be added without using the back button...

Website Updates

January 27, 2013 - 4:51pm -- GBT

The site continues to evolve. The most recent changes include adding a new system to track distances recorded from everyone's QuickMiles, the soon to launch iPhone app that records and saves maps automatically, any custom maps that are added, and any other formats that may be added later on. Along with these updates the site will support the metric system, so if you prefer kilometers there is a new option for that on the account settings page and that will control the way distance for your account is calculated and displayed while logged in.
