A nice ride around Auckland, New Zealand while on vacation. Went to Adventure Cycles (http://www.adventure-auckland.co.nz/adventurecycles/) and picked up a bike for $25.00 - 24 hours. Great deal. They gave me a bike, a lock, a nice map of bike friendly roads and public restrooms, and a helmet. Other accessories are available... Bright vests for example. Riding around New Zealand was a fun experience. The bicycle infrastructure around Auckland is quite nice and has a lot of potential. There are a few steep hills around. Most of all, coming from the states, I had to remember to stay on the LEFT side of the road. The roads can be a bit confusing as they all seem to loop around to one central area. But the area is small enough to get back on track easily after checking the maps.
